Queen of the South tells the powerful story of Teresa Mendoza, a woman who is forced to run and seek refuge in America after her drug-dealing boyfriend is unexpectedly murdered in Mexico. From Mexico to Dallas, Teresa seeks to become the country's reigning drug smuggler and to avenge her lover's murder. This television series is a mix of everything drama, romance, and action. Teresa ends up starting her own drug empire, becoming one of the world's wealthiest women in the process. With her success, she discovers that money doesn't fix all of her problems, and she can only depend on herself if she wants to stay one step ahead of others and stay alive.
I really enjoyed this series because it always kept me on my toes and wanting more. Although she chose to run a drug smuggler I admired her ability to always survive and get to the level she reached. I also liked her creativeness and kind heart even in the business she chose to take on.
